FrontPageWelcome to Power and Energy Class!!

Course Overview:      Power and Energy Technology is a half year elective course that studies the subject of power and how it is generated, controlled, and used and it’s impact in our society.  The class is beneficial to any student interested in careers related to engineering, physical sciences, mechanics, transportation, technical fields, or any aspect of manufacturing.   Topics covered in this course include power that is generated / converted and transmitted using;  wind power, water power, steam power, electrical power, internal combustion engines, nuclear power, solar, and geothermal power.

One of the first thing we must do is have an understanding of what Power, Energy, and work is. In order to do this we are going to vist a few site that will help.

 www.launc.tased.edu.au/online/sciences/PhysSci/done/kinetics/wep/Work.htm

This next site maybe more to the point, for what we will be doing. facstaff.gpc.edu/~pgore/PhysicalScience/work-energy-power.html

Look at the side bar, and then click on Unit 1.
